Sea Mar Coaches Development Summit

On September 8th, 2011, Gary White provided a Coaches Development Summit for a community-based soccer program in the South Park neighborhood. This local soccer program, supported by the Sea Mar Community Health Center, aims to introduce children to a healthy alternative: soccer. As the program begins its second year, Sea Mar reached out to Washington Youth Soccer to provide their coaches information on session organization, team management and coach development. Additionally, through the support of Sports Authority, Washington Youth Soccer was able to donate 20 soccer balls, pennies and disks to the local community. This educational opportunity will help ensure the success of South Park as they continue to develop their program, their community and most importantly, the future of the youth.

Washington Youth Soccer is happy to have been a part of this process through our coaching education and our commitment to community development. For more information on community development contact Heather Turney at heather@WashingtonYouthSoccer.org. For more information on Coaching Education, contact Kimberly Grant at Kimberly@WashingtonYouthSoccer.org.

WA Youth Soccer Technical Director, Gary White, is bringing Coaching Summits to Local Clubs!

Technical Director Gary White is setting out to present coaching summits on half time, game management and more to our Clubs across the State. Gary has visited multiple clubs, meeting with hundreds of coaches over the past month and he wants to present at your club!

During the customized coaching seminars, Gary covers a variety of topics. The Summits thus far have been very successful and helpful to local clubs.

Jimmy McAlister, Director of Coaching for Seattle United, says on the summit: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the state for providing Gary White as a resource for our first annual Seattle United soccer coaching summit. Gary was the highlight of the weekend, we are truly lucky to have such a great resource in our state. They say that it's tough to teach an old dog new tricks, but I think that Tommy Jenkins and I learned some new things This weekend that will help our kids in the future. Thanks for helping make our first annual Seattle United coaching summit a smashing success”

The Technical Department wants to bring this opportunity to your club!  For more information, and to request a Summit, please contact Technical Administrator, Kimberly Grant at kimberly@WashingtonYouthSoccer.org
