The State League is a league within Washington Youth Soccer that is open to any competitive team from U14 to U19 that is registered to WA Youth Soccer through US Youth Soccer. The goal is to create a league that emphasizes proper developmental techniques as set out in the Long Term Player Development curriculum while creating a competitive league season for Select and Regional club teams desiring a high level of play and travel across the state. Teams are placed in the State League based on the previous season’s league standings and State Cup results.
The State League season is traditionally broken into two parts based on gender/age: BU14-19 and GU14 play a fall season that starts the first Saturday after Labor Day, and GU15-19 play a winter/spring season that usually starts late January. The seasons are split to accommodate the high school soccer seasons set by Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA), with HS boys play beginning in late February/early March and HS girls play running from September through November.
