Washington Youth Soccer

Open tryouts for the Sounders FC Academy took place on March 10th and March 11th-- invitational tryouts are on March 13th and March 14th.

Sounders FC and Washington Youth Soccer hosted the 1st Regional Training Center (RTC) Game Nights on Monday, March 1st for the 1997 boys and 1997 girls, and on Friday March 5th for the 1996/1995 boys and 1996/1995 girls.  The event was a success with players from all areas of the state participating and competing against players from their birth year.  For the first time in many years, players in Washington State came to compete in games versus the best players from each geographical area.  Because the RTC program is a player centric training model, ODP head coaches were on hand to evaluate pool players versus state wide competition.  The RTC Game Nights brought more players into state pools as they proved their ability versus players already designated on state pools.

The RTC program will now break to allow the players in these age groups to concentrate on their state cup competition and the progression through tryouts in the spring.  The RTC program will reconvene in late spring/early summer as makes sense with the youth soccer calendar.
