The Inaugural season of the collaborative Fall 2010 Portland Metro league was a huge success and the 2011 season promises to be even better!  Based on your feedback, we have made the following updates and improvements for the 2011 season:

•    Washington Cost per teams has been reduced by 25%. Entry fees for this year will be $300
•    League rosters and reporting will be done in one central system this year
•    New this year, Under 11 Development Division
•    Under 11 & Under 11 Development teams will play 9v9 on both sides of the river. Maximum roster size will be 14 players
•    Under 11 & Under 11 Development games will have 3 referee’s on both sides of the river
•    Referee assigning will be standardized throughout the league
•    One discipline committee, consisting of both WA and OR members, will adjudicate cards issued from both sides of the river to ensure standardization
•    Schedules for Under 13 and above to be published by Aug 13th
•    Schedules for Under 11 Development, Under 11, and Under 12 to be published by Aug 26th.  There will be no League Placement Tournament (LPT), however, all Under 11 Development,  Under 11, and Under 12 teams will be encouraged to attend either the Mt. Hood Challenge, or the VUSA Summer Slam so that division placement for teams can be done as equitably as possible
•    Standings will be posted and league winners will be awarded medals for all age groups including for  Under 11 Development  and Under 11.
•     All games will be scheduled at the start of the season
•    Washington scheduled games will be coordinated with the Columbia Youth Soccer Federation league to ensure referees are available
•    For development purposes, both Oregon and Washington now have guest player rules in place

Advantages to playing in the Portland Metro League:

•    The Portland Metro League is sanctioned by both the Oregon Youth Soccer Association and Washington Youth Soccer, which qualifies all teams for Washington Youth Soccer State Cups and Oregon Youth Soccer State Cups.
•    Cooperative league that benefits players, coaches, parents, and teams from both States
•    Clear and timely communication with teams
•    Low costs with low travel (no overnight travel required)
•    No Travel papers or player releases
•    No games scheduled before 9:00am
•    Half of all games will be home games played on home fields
•    Scheduling flexibility at the beginning of the season is our policy
•    Great level of consistent competition with a large pool of teams
•    League Champions with awards
