About the Appeal Process

An Appeal is a request for reconsideration of a decision rendered by another sanctioned hearing panel.  Appealable decisions rendered in a state sanctioned competition must be appealed to the state level.  Only those parties to the original action, who are adversely impacted by such decisions, shall be allowed to file an appeal.  Accusations of assault or abuse must be heard only by the WSYSA Appeals Committee.

The Notice to Appeal must be postmarked within 48 hours of receipt of the original decision.  In general, the hearing on appeal shall be closed to the public, with the Chair having the discretion to allow the parties to participate by way of oral argument.  No rehearing of the case is possible.  Consideration of appeals will be limited to the specific facts, rules and procedures at issue.

Decisions rendered by the WSYSA Appeals Committee may be appealed to the United States Soccer Federation.  To obtain a copy of the form contact the USSF in Chicago, Illinois, at (312) 808-1300.  No decision of a State Association that arises out of the application of the rules of competition which is made in the course of the competition, and has no consequence beyond that competition is appealable.
